The end-to-end innovation journey

The IRIS device is an innovative prototype designed for an AI security company, utilising cutting-edge technology to scan irises for seamless identity verification. Its superior image quality and precision set it apart from market competitors.

The challenge

The client required an advanced biometric device capable of capturing ultra-precise iris data in real time, with greater speed and accuracy than existing market options. The system needed to operate contactlessly while adapting to a wide range of user environments—from low-light indoor settings to variable outdoor conditions. Alongside the need for high-resolution image capture, the device had to support integration with AI-driven facial recognition for future expansion. Optical calibration, secure data handling, and ergonomic design were critical to ensure comfort, accuracy, and trustworthiness. All of this had to be achieved while maintaining a compact hardware footprint and meeting security-grade performance standards.

Our approach

We began with extensive R&D to select and calibrate imaging components capable of delivering the high optical clarity needed for iris recognition. Our engineers designed a custom embedded system to manage image capture, processing, and data transmission, while simultaneously preparing the architecture to support future facial recognition features. Advanced machine learning models were trained to validate iris data with precision and speed, and our optical engineers fine-tuned the lens and sensor system to perform reliably across lighting conditions. The housing was designed to be sleek yet durable, and we ensured the prototype could scale toward production without sacrificing component quality or image fidelity.
